The Tiny House is where interior designer Jessica Helgerson and her family have been living for the past few years. The home is on several acres on an agricultural island of Sauvie on the Columbia River 15 miles north of Portland, Oregon.
This home is the absolute epitome of small and efficient. It is only 540 square feet. It was remodeled using all reclaimed materials. This home is full of gorgeous architectural details, and some rustic beauty. With the renovations starting to happen in my home soon, I am so glad I came across this house. It is a great inspiration.
If I ever get out to Portland, I would love to see this house and the land! My kind of place.

How was the weekend? Mine was pretty good. Did a lot of swimming...ate some good food...and watched the insane "Red Wedding"episode of Game of Thrones. Yea, I would say that it was pretty eventful.
A few years ago when I had Spotlight On Design, I featured The Brooklyn Home Company and I had said that I would've went with them to help me on my Brooklyn purchasing and renovating of the severely run down brownstone we were thinking of getting last year, but it turned out to go WAY out of our budget, so staying in Manhattan it was.
I love their work!

Happy Friday! It is going to be a pretty sweltering one here in NYC. Ugh!
Today I bring to you a great traditional Swedish home with modern amenities that gives you a sense of warmth. I found this great space while searching around Hus & Hem (house & home in Swedish) and I wanted to share ALL the photos I found!
It would be my dream to move out to Sweden to a place like this! Could you imagine what it would be like in the summer, how amazing the colors would look in the autumn, and how the beautiful white snow for Christmas would be? I can!

Six days have come and gone in Iceland. I can't even begin to explain how this may have become my most favorite trip. There is nothing better than having the freedom to drive where ever you want, following roads to untouched, magnificent beauty. We really lucked out with the weather. It only rained when we were leaving to go the airport to fly back to NYC.

This time next week I will be in Iceland. I cannot wait! There have been so many stresses as of late, that my brain needs a break. I am so looking forward to just getting in the rental car and driving where ever the road takes us. I have three extra batteries for my phone, and four extra batteries for my camera. I plan on taking a lot of photos. I am also taking my Polaroid 600. I have two packs of film for it.
I still haven't decided if I am taking my computer with me. There is a great possibility that I may not.
I am going to try and travel a lot lighter this time. iPad, iPod, and cameras is all I need.
Hope all is well!
Stay tuned for a great interiors post.

What a beauty this one is! I have to say I gawked for quite some time at these photos imagining what it would be like to live in this gorgeous home.

When I first saw this place without reading the info from the New York Times - I knew that for some reason this was going to be an artists or designers home. I was so ecstatic to find out it was Anthony's! I love his work! I adore his photography and his drawings. Anthony is a very talented artist.
He put a massive amount of time into the renovation of his Williamsburg, Brooklyn townhouse.
